Welcome New Members!

The opening social was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came, and everyone who helped make it happen! We had a strong showing at the booth and hopefully have all met some new people to have fun with this year.

For you new members, it's important to know that most of Quark's announcements/scheduling goes though this site. We show films weekly on Wednesday, and the writing and book clubs meet bi-weekly (usually), and the best way to stay up to date on upcoming activities is to check back here every so often. If you're reading this and haven't registered yet, please do so using the link on the left! Feel free to ask questions and start posting and contributing on the shout box and forum.

Officers: There will be a planning meeting at 6:30 on Wednesday in 455 MARB right before the film forum. I know this conflicts with at least one person's schedule, so if you could all PM me your schedules for this semester I'll see if I can find a consistent time that works for everyone. For any new people wondering what a planning meeting is: The officers hold those regularly to plan out future activities, and conduct general club business. They're open to any club members that want to attend.

Website Rules

This website should be a social place! Have fun posting, getting to know new people, and enjoying the club. Like any organization though, Quark has a few simple rules governing use of the website. Please just follow them, and ask an officer if you have questions on any particular rule.

Quark T-Shirts!

It's been a long time, but we're pleased to announce that Quark T-Shirts are available again! They can be ordered online at http://www.cafepress.com/quark.

CafePress does lean a bit more to the expensive side, but it's hard to do custom printing unless you're ordering in bulk. This enables people who want a T-Shirt to get one, and we won't have to worry about ordering a lot of T-Shirts that never get sold. Plus, we can leave these available for as long as we want. We're not charging any extra fees on top of what CafePress charges us.

The value T-Shirt is a lot less expensive, but be warned that the material is a lot lighter. It's still a decent shirt, but would probably not be the best idea for cooler weather.

If you're planning on getting one, it might be a good idea to see if anyone else is planning on it and combining you order with theirs to save on shipping. (Perhaps start a forum thread for this purpose).

Overview

Quark is BYU's official Sci-Fi/Fantasy Club. Our goal is to have fun and make friends with others who share common interests. There are no membership dues, and pretty much any student who wants to be a member can be! We've got a wide range of activities that cater to most interests; see below for more details on club sections. Registration is required to access most site features. Since 80% of Quark business and announcements are done over this site, it's really in your best interests. We won't spam you, we promise! You'll have to send a message to the President or Webmaster if you want to register and are not a BYU student though.
