This website should be a social place! Have fun posting, getting to know new people, and enjoying the club. Like any organization though, Quark has a few simple rules governing use of the website. Please just follow them, and ask an officer if you have questions on any particular rule.
- All post materials should be BYU approved. No swearing, no questionable images, links to questionable sites, etc.
- We are an academic club. So please keep that in mind on your posts. Posts that consist of "I love (insert show, game, book here) don't really add to the academic side. By all means, have fun posting, but try to share some of why you like or dislike it. Extreme randomness will be terminated.
- Topics need to stay on topic. Always. Don't talk about Gundam in a thread about Bleach. Don't talk about Harry Potter in a Warhammer thread. Unless of course, you are legitimately comparing Gundam to Bleach. Off topic comments and topics not relating to our club are more than welcome in the Off topic section.
- No links of any kind to fansubs or scanlations. Whether you think it okay or not is your own business, but don't talk about them on the boards. If you want to talk about it over instant messenger, or mention you have read them, that is fine, but no links or offers to share on the boards.
- Avoid spoilers of any kind. This is just common courtesy. If you want to discuss the ending of a book, movie, anime, or game, then make a post and label it as a spoilers post, so others can avoid it.
- Please be polite on the boards. Your opinion is just that - an opinion. Threads that contain malicious or angry posts back and forth will usually be locked, and often deleted. Posts of the type of "You're stupid for liking XX." are not appropriate for the Quark boards.
- Please try to write correctly. If you misspell words often, use a spell checker. Punctuate. This goes back to both the fact that we are an academic club, and the fact that it makes it much easier to read when you use capital letters and periods. Do not use leetspeak.
- Do not use the boards for commercial reasons. The occasionally person looking to sell his/her Gamecube is fine since there's a good chance of people actually being interested, but no links to commercial opportunities, no trying to regularly sell things through here, etc. If in doubt, don't do it.
This isn't an absolute list, but covers everything that seems to come up regularly. If an unusual circumstance comes up, please comply with moderator requests.
