About Quark

Overview

Quark is BYU's official Sci-Fi/Fantasy Club. Our goal is to have fun and make friends with others who share common interests. There are no membership dues, and pretty much any student who wants to be a member can be! We've got a wide range of activities that cater to most interests; see below for more details on club sections. Registration is required to access most site features. Since 80% of Quark business and announcements are done over this site, it's really in your best interests. We won't spam you, we promise! You'll have to send a message to the President or Webmaster if you want to register and are not a BYU student though.

Film Forum

Every Wednesday at 7:00 PM in B002 JFSB we show a science fiction, fantasy, or anime film, followed by a short discussion afterward. This is Quark's most popular reoccurring activity and a great way to get to know people. Check the Film Schedule for details on film dates.

Book Club

Looking for a great book, or people to discuss it with? Try out Quark's Book Club! Meeting on some Saturdays in 135 TMCB, it's a great way to enjoy some great scifi/fantasy literature, and get a 20% discount on those books when purchased at the BYU Bookstore! See the forum threads for more.

Writing Group

Meeting on Tuesdays and Saturdays in 2250 HBLL, the Writing Group is the place to get feedback and share your stories with others.

Games

Quark is a great place to find peopel to game with. From RPG groups to lan or onsole gaming tournaments, there's almost always some type of gaming event going on. Check out the gaming area of the forums for more details.

Club Administration

The charter is really boring, but the officers list is useful so you can know who to ask questions of.
